Stern goes early

I found this on All Access this morning:

Stern Makes Early Sirius Debut
HOWARD STERN took to the air this afternoon (1/3) on SIRIUS, commencing what amounted to an on-air sound check on HOWARD 100. Joined by ROBIN QUIVERS, GARY DELL'ABATE, FRED NORRIS, ARTIE LANGE, and other staffers, he said "There's a ton of things that don't work," and stressed that the technical glitches would need to be ironed out if the show is to officially debut next week.

"I'm hearing a metallic sound right now... we can't hear that kind of sound," said STERN. He did acknowledge that he could hear FRED better than he could at INFINITY, and FRED commented that he loves the SIRIUS music system, allowing him to find virtually any song instantly. HOWARD then played DJ, calling off songs for FRED to find and play, while HOWARD attempted to hit the posts, using the old WNBC call letters.

As of 5p ET, the impromptu show was continuing to air on SIRIUS channel 100, with STERN testing his harmonizer "Bob and Ray" and "Ham and Slam" voices and taking phone calls ("this is a test," he told one caller, "this is not the show"). STERN said that he will be doing another final run-through on THURSDAY but has not decided whether it will be put on the air.

I'm sure my husband was miffed about missing it since Sirius was his Christmas present!

How do you let this happen?

I've said this before on this blog and I'm saying it again now: Every journalist must ALWAYS have two sources before going with a story and you never EVER depend on another news source for confirmation! EVER! Get the story yourself or don't do the story at all!

That being said, the person or persons responsible for the two and half hours of false hope given to the families of twelve miners killed in West Virginia should be fired and forced to out himself so we know who NOT to trust in the news next time.

Finally!

NBC is finally updating its look! It is going to get as old as quickly as the other but thank God it's different!
