Must have post-game Rammer Jammer!

The Million Dollar Band is only allowed to play "Rammer Jammer" after a win. Some heads at the University of Alabama thought it was too offensive to cheer, "Hey (insert team name), Hey (insert team name), We're gonna beat the hell out of you! Rammer Jammer, Yellow Hammer - Give'em Hell Alabama!" So instead we're allowing fans to say, "We're kicking you're ASS, right now!" more often...among other obscenities that you here normally at any college of NFL football gathering.

The law laid down about two years ago only makes me hungry to chant the tune after games! I bide my time in T-town and chant the tune, along with the fight song (the best in my opinion), regularly...just because I can.

Now, it's important for me to chant this tune tomorrow evening. Very important. The Tide is looking at a 10-0 season, and it isn't a season that is that incredible but look at it this way: we don't have Tyrone Prothro anymore...breaking two bones in one leg is never a good way to finish a season and now we don't have JB Closner -- loosing him at Mississippi St. to an eerily similar injury to Alabama alum Wesley Britt two years ago in Tuscaloosa against Tennessee. I want to see the boys prove themselves!

Wins over Mississippi St., Ole Miss and Utah St. should have been like Auburn against La. Monroe two years ago where Tubs only let La. Monroe score after a 70 pt. deficit to help their self-esteem then Auburn responded to that with yet another 7 pts! Yet, I have to remind doubters about Tennessee - no Prothro. No matter the Vols ranking or performance this season, the rivalry between the two teams fuels a different kind of adrenaline to the likes you've never seen! Despite the tension that is painfully obvious between fans and teams of the Crimson and of the Orange, the win over Fulmer's lackeys shows that Mike Shula's Tide can overcome pressure now, they have matured, and they can still do their job on the field.

That's why I'm not so sure Alabama should be forgotten, like this MSNBC article by John Tamanaha states. I think Alabama has a good chance against #5 LSU tomorrow in T-town. I think LSU may even be overhyped. LSU's JeMarcus Russell may be the "it" guy this week but look at his numbers. The sophomore doesn't compare well to Alabama's Brodie Croyle. Granted, Brodie can't throw far, and without Closner, it's a given the Tiger's defense will attack our offensive line and sack #12 faster than it took that "other guy" who wore the #12 to drink the shot that made him decide he needed to go to rehab instead of just kiss ESPN female sideline reporters.

MSNBC must have a SEC hunger this week because they featured Shula and his prep for the game of his life. Apparantly, this writer isn't from the south or else he would know that every SEC game is the game of a coaches life -- especially when they are ranked! So far this season, Shula had the game of his life with the un-expected win over Florida and the game against Tennesse. We Alabama fans tend to doubt our team and if we are devoted fans, we won't stop until we see the Bear reborn on the sidelines. Every SEC game will always be THE game we don't want to miss!

Of course this is the game of Shula's life! Two top ten ranked teams in a stadium that houses the voices of fan volume to the like of Tiger Stadium AND the home of the Georgia Bulldogs in an undefeated season for the first time in his head coaching career - following two prior loosing seasons, sanctions and two rounds of musical coaches - why is this game any different than the Iron Bowl? How could it be?!

When it comes down to who is going to win, the sun is just starting to come up and I haven't even looked at the line yet. I'm scared to. I have a feeling that it's LSU by 3 1/2. That's just my guess and I'll tell you later if I'm close. There's an article on MSNBC (yet another one) that reminds me, if Miami can come out of nowhere to move up in the polls, why can't Alabama?

Alabama has the defense to hold of LSU. Now lately, the defense has also been the offense, especially in the last 12 quarters. Without them, we would be 7-3.

If, miraculously in a week's time, the real offense can get their game together, Taylor Britt can get adjusted to Closner's position, and Croyle can stop throwing temper-tantrums when he's left unprotected and instead throw the ball to DJ Hall, we may actually see a team to the likes of men Gene Stallings raised in the early '90's - NOT to be compared with the '92 National Championship team, though, even with the every 13 year rule in effect for this year.

That last sentence is spoken like a true Alabama fan - ask any one who wear's Crimson and just watch! They'll start that sentence with, "Well, if we can just do this..." or "Well, I tell ya, we have to be to get this taken care of or we ain't gonna do nothin' on that field and them boys are gonna run all over us!" and the statement will wrap with, "...then we may have a chance."

Roll Tide Boys! I think the Tide can win tomorrow! BUT WILL THEY? Tune in tomorrow to CBS to find out. In the meantime, to my men in the Crimson and White - and Mike Shula - you have had an amazing season! This is a team completely different from the last two years, with a new energy and the glimmer of Alabama tradition beginning to show on the shimmer of your helmets. I'm proud to say I stood by Alabama (eventhough I did begin to watch my Dawg's a little more during the Dubose years). You have a winning season this year for me. Following two loosing seasons, and embarrassing coach who never coached a game and disrespected the school publicly, another coach who lied, and then another who decided he liked his secretary more than the game and also got us sanctioned, it can now safely be said that the Tide is back - no matter what happens tomorrow!

Roll Tide!
