Sarbanes-Oxley Crap

What an example to be set for white collar criminals in the federal courtroom: You can get away with anything, no matter what the government does to try to stop you.

Richard Scrushy is a free man after six months in the courtroom, twenty days of deliberations, and 13 jurors. The ousted Healthsouth CEO has been aquitted on all charges in the company's fraud trial. He was accused of overstating company earnings by $2.7 billion.

What I want to know is how do you look at the books, see the numbers, sign off on it, and NOT realize something is wrong? An A- for the defense for finding the most incompetent panel.

And what about all of the former CFO's who made plea agreements and testified against their former employer? Why don't we just hand them a pad of ink and a stamp that reads "Jackass?"

I shouldn't complain too much. It didn't end in a mistrial and we won't have to through all of this all over again. I still want my money back, though.
