More Katrina Effects

I'm watching FOXNews right now, like I usually do.

All they are doing for 9/11 so far? A few updates in between Katrina stories; stories we've all heard a thousand times by now.

As I type, they are actually doing a story about President Bush remembering victims of 9/11. OH -- just as I say that, they announce the President is headed back to the storm ravaged gulf coast regions today.

Meantime, a new storm, Ophelia sits stationary by South Carolina. She's just waving at the beach right now, her winds barely making her a hurricane. The storm should hit the Carolinas as a Cat2 but after Katrina, Dennis, Ivan, Opal, Jeanne, Bonnie, and Charlie I really don't think South Carolina has much to worry about. But still, precautions should be taken. However, that being said, I still foresee in the near future many petrified residents fleeing the Atlantic coastline after the non-stop coverage of Katrina and why any hurricane should be taken seriously only to return home and see that it looked like nothing ever hit.

In short: Expect a surge in hotel rentals throughout northwest Georgia, western South Carolina and North Carolina maybe even into eastern Tennessee...meaning now isn't a good time to visit Gatlinburg.
